Karibu! (Welcome)
The Backpack Farm Team is pleased to announce its newest franchise partner, Elyon Trust. By mid August, 4 new training farms will launch in Kikuyu, Meru, Nyeri and Thika. Each site will provide smallholder farmer's access to a fully qualified agronomist and trainer demonstrating more than 40 capacity building classes and our unique program of green agri-tech and irrigation. Training leveages local crop varieties such as Kunde (beans), Sorghum, Sukuma Wiki (kale) and higher value crops such as red onions, potatoes, fine (french) beans and even passion fruit. More important, farmers will have access to low interest finance to purchase for the next planting season.
